Description: Japanese and Chinese natives who were brought elsewhere growing in parks and on homesteads. Big bamboo that grows in upright bunches up to 20 meters tall. Lance-shaped leaves with a rough leaf border are present (30 cm long, 4 cm wide). Each branch has an arrangement of about 8–9 leaves. Bright yellow young leaves soon turn green and then brown. The culms, or woody aboveground stems, can reach a width of 4 to 10 cm. Rhizomes are the term for the stem’s underground portion. It is a typical bamboo for ornamental purpose around the world.
