Description: Vitex negundo is a small aromatic semi-evergreen tree that is frequently grown as an ornamental plant. Karinochi is primarily used to treat arthritic and rheumatic pain. Karinochi’s anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties are used in the preparation of Ayurvedic remedies for these conditions. It reduces joint swelling, and bathing in water boiled with karinochi leaves is an effective pain reliever for people suffering from arthritis and rheumatism. Karinochi root is useful for coughs and other respiratory problems. Sleeping on a pillow stuffed with karinochi leaves relieves sinus headaches, phlegm, and clears the nasal passages. The vulnerary (wound-fighting) properties of karinochi leaves, bark, and roots are used to treat skin sores, itching, and even poisonous spider and snake bites.
