Description: Tree 50 meters or taller, with a 1.9 m d.b.h. maximum. Flowers have 15-20 yellow, inverted-lance-shaped tepals with strong floral scent. Medicinal use : remedy for eye conditions, headache, yields essential oils, is aphrodisiac, produces lumber, and is decorative. Cinnamon is occasionally adulterated using the aromatic, bitter bark. The bark has febrifuge properties. After labour, a bark and leaf decoction is administered. Leprosy is treated using the flowers.
