Description: Trees, up to 7 m high. The blossoms are appreciated as an antispasmodic when infused. It is used to treat the beginnings of a cold and headaches. A rough cordage made of the flexible bark is possible. The bark has a strong, silk-like fiber that can be utilized to make rope and lashings for supports. Making baskets with it is another usage. The wood is prized for its use in producing paper pulp. The soft wood is mostly prized as fuel since it burns hot and readily ignites while producing little smoke. Moreover, it serves as cooking wood.
